Please Clean Up After Your Dog Yard Signs

Clean up after your dog garden signs
Clean up after your dog garden signs

If you’re out in your garden a lot, the last thing you want to do is step in a mess left by a dog. I seem to have several pairs of shoes that have fallen prey to that problem. I own a dog, so I know it’s not fun to pick up after your dog, but it’s the right thing to do.

For a while there, I had quite the problem with the dog owners who walked in our neighborhood. Some would even turn their dogs loose and let them use the middle of the yard or garden. It was very unpleasant. I went looking for something that would remind them that it’s important to clean up after their pet.

How to get people to pick up after their dogs

Sometimes our neighbors just need a little reminder. These signs are perfect for that and worked very well in my yard. I’m not saying that it fixed the problem entirely, but it certainly lessened the problem considerably.

For the rest of the folks, if I saw someone letting their dog use my yard, I would simply walk outside with a plastic bag, say hello to them, and then ask them if they needed it (in a very friendly manner of course). These dog owners would apologize profusely and then clean up after their dogs.  I think that developing a relationship with folks is probably the best prevention.

Sign Dimensions

I bought my signs from All Signs Co. on Amazon. They’re not inexpensive, but they are durable. I have had my signs up for 2 years now and they are not showing any signs of wear. These signs aren’t very big, which is great, because they don’t impact my garden visually too much.

  • 4.5″ x 6″ aluminum sign
  • 2′ steel post

The kit comes with everything you need, just pound the stake into the ground and attach the sign.
